* It is very important for every client to love their custom 24k illuminated art! I will work closely with you along the way to ensure complete satisfaction. Each completed illuminated original and embellished art print will come with a certificate of authenticity and will also be signed!

2nd layer of 24k gold

  • Please allow 2-3 months for completion upon acceptance of commission depending upon the Artist’s current project line. Once gold work begins the average creation time is 6-12 weeks.

  • The commission window may close periodically due to time constraints and commission load. Feel free to contact for availability and a free consultation!

  • Ordering - Total pricing includes free consultation, a $150 one-time fee for hand sketch original layout design, two free revisions, hourly rate, cost of materials, cost of precious metals (fluctuating market cost of pure 24k gold/palladium) Most flat artwork is double gilded and raised pastiglia is triple gilded depending upon design features.

  • All prices are estimated and based on the cost of materials and average estimated time based on size and desired gilding style (flat or raised) and current precious metal prices.

  • Prices are subject to increase or decrease at any time as per cost of materials or revisions

  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is required before work will begin, the remaining 50% final payment plus shipping is required before artwork will be shipped to a client.

  • Though it is extremely rare, in the case of discovered infringement or harassment, the Artist reserves the right to cancel the project at any time with no refund.

  • Prices do NOT include shipping.

  • To keep costs down and allow for customization, framing will be assumed by the client and not the Artist. A protective mat and cover will be provided.

  • It is recommended to frame your custom 24k illuminated artwork with a double mat to keep the raised gilding away from harm, if using glass, conservation museum-quality art glass is recommended to filter out UV rays.

  • For best conservation, keep your illuminated fine art hung in a safe, dry location away from direct sunlight, excessive moisture, drafts, crushing pressure or temperature changes.

  • In the case of gesso cracking or other unforeseen defect requiring restoration, the Artist will restore the artwork for minimal cost.

A small note about Heraldic Themed Art:

Karena is a professional illuminator with a love of heraldry and continuous study of heraldic art. Her heraldic themed art is typically created for artistic and personal enjoyment only. She is an official Member of the International Association of Amateur Heralds and also of many heraldic social groups.

Heraldic themed art, including artistic interpretation of a clients existing Coat of Arms or Heraldic Fantasy art, will be gladly considered for commission. However, new arms will not be created, only an artistic interpretation of existing familial arms or artistic interpretation of assumed arms will be considered. The artist bears no responsibility for use other than personal artistic value of said heraldic creations and reserves the right to decline a heraldic armorial request.

After review and acceptance of the request, she retains the right at any time to refuse or discontinue any heraldic art commission design or discovered intent to misuse said design that may bear any infringement to the College of Arms.

* DISCLAIMER: This artist will only create original heraldic themed art with the most noble and artistic of intent and is in no way responsible for the misuse, duplication, misinterpretation, distribution or other abuse of said heraldic art.

The artist reserves the right to decline at will and without further discussion any reproduction or request she feels is infringing on registered arms, infringing on the basic noble traditions of heraldry or the request is not substantiated with documentation of granting or extensive genealogical proof of familial lineage.

Heraldic commission requests with the intent to 'officially' represent an individual, family, business, logo or organization for compensation or any other gain must be petitioned, commissioned and legally granted through the College of Arms.
